Let's compare 2 of the top brands for hair loss in men:Hims VS Keeps.
They offer roughly the same products - but there are still enough differences. So:
- Which one has the happiest customers?
- What is more popular and trusted?
- And finally – who has the best deal?
I analyzed both brands very closely - so I found out their most important features and information.
so if you are lookingthe best choice between Hims and Keeps– I have the answer in this review.
Note: This review is based on my own opinion + research on these 2 products.
What I'm going to watch
Comparing Hims VS Keeps,I will consider 5 main aspects:
- Products Offered
- Results
- customer's opinion
- Doctor's consultation
- Preis
In each of these 5 chapters,I will also choose the winner.
In the end, I will give you a clear answer as to which brand is better and which is worth buying.
PS: If there's an aspect I haven't mentioned and you'd like me to check it out, let me know in a comment and I'll be happy to do it.
Him's or Keep's? (In short)
In short – both are possiblea subscription to treatments for male pattern baldness(Minoxidil + Finasterid).
The difference is that Hims also offers ED and anxiety products, while Keeps only focuses on hair loss.
But this is another story.
So basically – both offer Minoxidil + Finasteride.
However -Keeps is better in most chapters:
- Best price and offer
- Order completely free for the first month
- Free doctor consultation (for finasteride)
- More happy customers
- Guaranteed Refunds
The Hims products are good too (since they are basically the same).
But the company has enough negative reviews and complaints online.
And no - most do not refer to the products themselves (but to their practices).
So if you want a safe and cheaper minoxidil and finasteride subscription –My first choice is Keeps.

#1 – Products Offered –WINNER: Him
Both brands sell roughly the same hair products as their main recommendations.
However – there is an overall difference:
- 2 products are offered by both (Minoxidil and Finasteride)
- 2 products are only offered by Hims (shampoo + gummies)
Basically -Keeps has 2 products while Hims has 4.
Let me explain by taking them in order.
1. Holds
It sticks to the classics and only offersthe 2 standard products:
- Minoxidil 5% - FDA approved for crown thinning.[1]
- Finasteride 1mg – Also FDA approved but for receding hairline.[2]
You can also get both products together (for a better overall effect and a lower price).
Basically – Keeps only offers the essential products instead of promoting unnecessary ones as well.
2. Him
Their offering includes the usual minoxidil and finasteride, plus 2 other products:
- Shampoo – for maintenance treatment
- Biotin Gummies - for an increased hair growth effect
It also offers products for ED, anxiety, and premature ejaculation.
Back to hair products, they exist4 products – combined in 3 kits:
- Complete Kit (Finasteride + Shampoo + Minoxidil + Gummies)
- Over-the-counter kit (everything except finasteride)
- Edible Kit (Finasteride + Gummies)
In my opinion these 2 additional products(shampoo and gummies) are not very useful.
Shampoos rarely have much of an effect on hair loss.
Also, biotin gummies are loaded with sugar, so they may affect your health (just like Sugar Bear gummy bears).
Diploma
Since Hims offers more hair products compared to Keeps 2 – it's the real winner.
However,I wouldn't see this as an advantage:
- The 2 additional products are not very effective
- they are probably not worth the money
Even if Hims has a broader range - I would recommend youto stick with minoxidil and finasteride.
The shampoo and gummies will not increase their effects too much.
So I don't think they are worth the extra cost.
#2 – Results – PULL
So even though Hims offers 4 products (vs. 2 in Keeps) –Your results are about the same.
Like I said:
- the 2 additional products from Hims are not too effective
- It's minoxidil and finasteride that do all the work
Now let's analyze their overall results.
1. Holds
People used only minoxidil/finasteride or both together.
- Some say their hair loss has decreased (after about 6 months).
- Others say their thin spots look fuller.
- Some others claim that their hair density has increased.
Obviously – the results are better after about a year.
But as you might expect - there are also people who have not experienced any improvement.
However,Overall, the results are positive(more than 50%). You can see morein my full review.
2. Him
It has roughly the same feedback as Keeps.
In fact - his percentage of satisfied customers isa bit lower(still over 50% but lower than in Keeps).
- Some people say they can see an improvement in their hair.
- Others only mention that the products are helpful.
- Most say they only use the full kit (all 4 products).
Regarding side effects – most of the complaints relate to finasteride.
As it is known to cause secondary reactions, it is perfectly normal.[3]
However – some users are complainingabout acne and breakouts.
If you ask me, they're because of the added sugar (from the gummies).
Diploma
Overall – Keeps and Hims had about the same percentage of positives.
Since their top products are exactly the same, this is normal.
However, it seems that the additional 2 products from Hims didn't help all that much.
So I stand by my opinion –Opt only for the Minoxidil + Finasteride supply.
#3 – Customer Opinion –WINNER: Hold
Overall – Keeps has way more positive reviews than Hims.
In fact, I found many complaintsindicating that Hims was a scam.
Though I don't necessarily think so - their practices might be a bit dodgy.
But let's take a closer look at each one.
1. Holds
In addition to the results, many customers praise Keeps for:
- Really quick advice and replies
- Refund warranty
- The prices are listed correctly
- Fast shipping and product arrival
In other words -Holds rocks in terms of customer service.
I actually found very few complaints about it in this chapter.
The only ones related to the poor performance of the products (but that's not necessarily their fault).
2. Him
As I said, I founda lot more complaintscompared to keeps.
And most don't talk about the products themselves (which are good ones if you ask me).
Instead of this:
- Some people say they were charged without the order shipping.
- Others claim they paid $5 for the consultation.
- However, many of them were rejected by Hims' doctor.
- Even so, they never got that $5 back.
- Others complain that you can't cancel your automatic shipping.
Basically – I found a lot of reviewsCriticism of His Practice.
Although their products are good, the company seems to have some issues in this chapter.
No wondersome complaints about BBB(more on that in my full review).
Diploma
According to some previous users:
- Keeps is completely legit and honest with customers
- Hims has some issues with refunds and shipping
You can't trust all the reviews, that's true.
But if you consider that there isa high number of complaints about Hims– Personally, I wouldn't buy one of these.
Especially if you have the same products on Keeps.

#4 – Doctor Visit –WINNER: Hold
Finasteride can only be bought with a doctor's prescription.
Since both brands offer it – they also offer ita doctor's consultation (online).
If the patient is approved for finasteride, they will receive the prescription and can place an order.
Otherwise, he can only take minoxidil, which does not require a prescription.
1. Holds
It hasthe best offerWhen it comes to advice:
- The initial consultation is free for everyone.
- From the second it costs $5.
- Accordingly, you need about 1 consultation per year.
In my opinion, Keeps numbers are pretty good and decent (nothing overpriced).
And there's one more thing.
The potential customers are contacted very quickly (maximum 1-2 days) by the doctor.
Also, from what I've read,Most patients are approved for finasteride(if it is really necessary).
So they're not just trying to take your money and turn you down - which some competitors are doing.
2. Him
Unlike Keeps, this chapter has some issues:
- Each consultation costs $5 (including the first).
- A lot of people get rejected according to some reviews.
- However, some of these are authorized in other brands.
As I have already said,Him's practices are heavily criticized:
- Some people say Hims only uses that $5
- They end up rejecting you for no real reason
- Also, this $5 will not be refunded to you
Again - I cannot guarantee that this is true.
But considering I've read that in many reviews, I assume it is.
Diploma
A doctor's consultation for finasteride is cheaper in Keeps.
If you just want to test the product –I can definitely recommend Keeps because the first consultation is free.
As for him, I've heard enough bad things.
So I would personally recommend Keeps as long as you want to be admitted (if you really are a suitable candidate).
#5 – Preis –WINNER: Hold
Overall, Keeps has a much better price - especially over the long run.
It is also true that both brands havehigher prices compared to a pharmacy.
So if you have health insurance I wouldn't recommend any of them.
But if you are a discreet person – choosing these brands might be easier for you.
1. Holds
It has some slightly higher prices than a pharmacy.
But still – it probably hasthe lowest cost among its competitors:
- The first month's order is free (regardless of the products you buy).
- Finasteride costs $25 per bottle.
- As a 3-month supply, it costs $50 (first time only).
- From the second time it costs $75 per 3 months.
- Minoxidil costs $10 (solution) or $15 (foam) per month.
- A 3-month supply costs $20-$30 (first time).
- After that it costs $30 or $35.
Well - if you have health insurance, you can get these 2 products for less money.
But that means going to your doctor and buying that at your pharmacy.
If you want to avoid that, Keeps can really help.
2. Him
Compared to Keeps, the prices are a bit higher.
This is especially true if you want to buy Finasteride/Minoxidil alone (which I recommend).
- Finasteride costs $28.50 per month.
- As a 3-month supply, it costs $85.50.
- Minoxidil alone costs $15 per month.
Well - that's a few extra bucks compared to Keeps.
If you buy any of the 3 kits, the overall price is better.
But since each kit contains at least one of these 2 additional products (gummies or shampoo), I do not recommend it.
These 2 products don't do anything special - so they existno point in spending extra money,If you ask me.
Diploma
In terms of price, Keeps has the better offer overall.
So from these 2 brands,I definitely recommend choosing it over Hims.
But if you want to save some money - get a doctor's prescription and buy it at your local pharmacy.
Because they are insured, the costs are lower.
#6 – PROs & CONS
If you're still unsure whether Hims or Keeps is better...
Here is a list of the pros and cons.
1. Holds
Best price for Minoxidil/Finasteride among all competitors.
- No cost for the first month for any order.
- Free consultation for the first year (if required).
- Don't promote additional useless products.
- Lots of positive reviews online.
- Real refunds for unsatisfied customers.
- The prices are higher than in local pharmacies.
- Minoxidil/finasteride must be used for the rest of the patient's life.
- Otherwise, hair loss will return and even worsen.
for keeps HERE
2. Him
Also offers products for ED, anxiety, etc.
- In addition to Minoxidil and Finasteride, it sells 2 other hair products.
- Works for more than 60% of men who try it.
- Lots of complaints about company practices.
- Higher prices than other competitors (like Keeps).
- Many patients are turned down after the doctor's consultation for finasteride.
- Enough complaints about the refunds.
- Minoxidil and Finasteride must be used forever once you start using it.
My Final Verdict - Him or Keep?
Short answer:Pretty much lasts– it performed better in most chapters:
- Hims won 1 chapter
- Keeps 3 chapters won
So in my opinion Keeps is a much better choice overall.
- Lowest price among online brands selling Minoxidil + Finasteride.
- The first order is free.
- Free doctor consultation (for the first time).
- Good prices even after the second purchase.
- Much more praise and positive reviews.
- Serious and trustworthy company.
AlthoughHims also offers quality products(they're the same after all) - it's a bit shadier.
According to some reviews, many customers never received their order (despite paying).
Also - it seems like many finasteride customers are rejected after the doctor's consultation.
Obviously your payment will never be refunded.
For this reason -here is my advice:
- If you have health insurance, visit your local doctor.
- This way you can get the products cheaper in your local pharmacy.
- If you prefer discretion, you should try an online seller.
- Keeps has the best price and is probably the best rated seller.
- So I would recommend choosing it.
Personally, I don't recommend minoxidil or finasteride - as you can't give them up once you start using them.
My personal choice isa $25 supplement for male pattern baldness.
Although not FDA approved, it may have even better results than these two products.
So in the end it's your own decision.
